'Falling In Love'

Bio

One could easily imagine a little girl with a porcelain face, blonde curls and dreamy eyes smiling up at heaven, softly whispering, “Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight.” Well, that little girl grew up to be Carly Morgan.

On February 26, 1996, proud parents, Danny and Traci Morgan and big brother Jesse welcomed Carly Blake Morgan, into the world. This close-knit family would soon discover their blonde hair, green-eyed, baby girl not only had the face of an angel but a voice to match. Raised in the quiet community of Pioneer, Louisiana, Carly grew up surrounded by fields of cotton, soybeans and corn, in a place where everybody knows everybody and church on Sunday is the way of life.

Like so many artists, it was in church that Carly found her voice. At seven years old, she was asked to join Children of the Kingdom, a Southern-gospel children’s group. As a member of Children of the Kingdom, she performed at venues throughout Southern Arkansas and North Louisiana, growing to love the stage and entertaining the crowd more with every performance. After three years of performing with the group, she was growing into a young lady. Her love for entertaining ran deep but it was time to move in a new direction.

Carly continued to sing country and gospel music and especially enjoyed the honor of singing for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal when he visited her congregation at Forest Baptist Church in Forest, Louisiana. Over the years she performed many times at Relay for Life, a fundraiser for cancer research and she won numerous talent contests including Entertainer of the Year for “Our Little Miss” in Louisiana.

A desire to strengthen her God-given gifts and truly define her musical style lead her to participate in an artist boot camp with PCG Nashville-The Science of Artist Development in Nashville, Tennessee. Soon after she became a regular client with PCG Nashville to continue her development. A year later her growth was tremendous. “We are so proud of the work Carly has done with us. She is a very talented and beautiful young lady, inside and out. It has been our pleasure to help her find who she is as an artist. Regardless of where her future leads, we believe she will be successful in everything she chooses to do,” says Bernard Porter, President and Founder of PCG Nashville.

Carly’s development with PCG Nashville has been a path of learning and discovery. By the end of her first year she found her musical home in Adult Contemporary music. “I love songs like Norah Jones’, “Don’t Know Why” and Ingrid Michaelson’s version of “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”. I like songs with a smooth and easy feel but I love those upbeat Sara Bareilles love songs too,” says Carly. “Being a girl from the country, I didn’t see myself singing those kinds of songs but now, when I do, it just fits, it’s me,” she continues. One of Carly’s proudest moments was earning the opportunity to sing at the Grand Re-Opening of the Opry Mills Mall, following the 2010 flood in Nashville, Tennessee. There she was able to really “try on” her new genre and it was a “perfect fit”. Through her studies at PCG Nashville, she continues to spread her artist wings writing with some of Nashville’s finest writers, training with Music Row professionals and learning the ropes in the studio with Bob Bullock.

In her spare time, when she isn’t busy maintaining an Honor Roll average in school or working on her music, she enjoys another of her favorite past times, volunteering at the local nursing home. She especially enjoys visiting with the residents, playing games with them, hearing their stories of days gone by and helping with the Senior Olympics. If she is blessed enough to become a celebrity one day she would like to bring awareness to the needs of the elderly and shine a light on the wisdom that lies in them.

She’s been told more than once she has her head in the clouds but that’s okay with Carly. She’s all grown up now but her infectious smile and the twinkle in her eyes say she’s still fixed on something special but she’s not counting on wishes anymore to make it come true.

With hard work, a big heart, the support of her family and a beautiful voice she loves to share, Carly is well on her way to a successful music career. There’s no doubt, a star is out there waiting to shine bright for Carly Morgan and she plans to light it up!
